When Marc Mero returned to the WWF after a devastating injury in 1997, he had a new attitude and a new nickname... "Marvelous!" Going back to his roots as a State of NY Golden Gloves champion, he would change his style and his mindset. Once beloved, Mero would go on to slowly become the antagonist while becoming the jealous and over-protective of Sable.
Eventually, Mero would turn full heel. Feuding with Sable while partnering up with Jacqueline.
